At Babunhol Farmers we have started the harvesting of the first batch of sweet potatoes. This project commenced in December 2019 with the planting of 10.000 plants. The plant material was purchased from InVitroPlant Grassalco (an ultramodern laboratory specialized in the production of in vitro (tissue culture) propagated plant material). The first 1000 kg is being harvested in the month of April. Although the yield is disappointing we are confident that the lessons learned will contribute to the expected outcome. Worth mentioning is the very good taste. Our marketing and sales team is preparing for the market penetration. Soon our products will be available in selected supermarkets.

Sweet potato, particularly the orange-fleshed variety, is well-known for being high in carbohydrates, but it is also rich in fiber and essential nutrients.
